Mix tapes are not to me what they are to most people.
A mix tape isn't something I do in an afternoon. I can do one in a weekend but only if I'm not in school, not working,
and I don't go anywhere.
Each tape generally takes a week's worth of spare time to construct.
Construction includes:
-choosing songs
-planning the order/recording
-filling in the end of each side with nonsense
-creating J-card cover
-assembling custom shell
-selecting a case
-printing or handwriting a track listing
So that's my obsessive nerdy hobby. Welcome!
Here's my latest tape, Dual Meaning! I chose that name because lately I've noticed that just about anything anyone says or
does can be percieved in at LEAST two different ways. For instance, if a person says "Hi, nice to meet you," it
might mean, "Hi, it is pleasing to me that I get to meet you and be in your presence," or it could mean, "Hi,
I'm being nice to you to make you think I like you and so that you'll do things I expect of you which you will have difficulty
discerning because I will only hint at what they are." See what I mean? So, feeling a bit misunderstood as of late, I
titled N58, "Dual Meaning".

The scanner doesn't really do this tape justice because it comes out too dark. When you see the tape with some light coming
through it, it really looks great. You can see the striped slipsheets I found inside another tape. It was a black tape and
those sweet slipsheets were hiding inside!

Because of the whole darkness factor, I decided to make an extra effort so you could see how cool these reels are. Not only
are they spokey, there's a thin ring right in the center. The reels came from the same cassette that donated its slipsheets.

This picture is from a Spin magazine fashion spread from a couple years ago. I don't remember exactly, but I think one of
them is a model and the other a graffiti artist. On the other side is a picture of Modest Mouse (I think that's who it is).
